• Confabulations Torbjørn Rødland

    • Editors Notes

In psychiatry, “Confabulations” are defined as memory disturbances; the production of fabricated, distorted or misinterpreted memories about oneself or the world, without the conscious intention to deceive.

Los Angeles-based photographer Torbjørn Rødland’s latest book is a catalogue of such disturbances. A bizarre collection of warped childhood fantasies, casual perversions and distorted memories. The photographs range from vivid colour to cold black and white, from playful to unsettling, from innocent to depraved.
